THE RHYTHM METHOD CHIN UP

London duo The Rhythm Method have picked the perfect moment to share their optimistic footie anthem 'Chin Up'. With England bagging a last minute 2-1 win against Tunisia, football fever has well and truly arrived and this is the ideal soundtrack. Delivered in their characteristic half-spoken, half-Pet Shop Boys-esque vocal style, 'Chin Up' captures a sense of "cheerful realism" with witty lyrics like, "this is domestic bliss, Southgate owes us for the pen, he went and missed" and "remember those still left at home like Scotland, Wales and me". It's unashamedly cheesy with its ultra-eighties synth layers and artificial drum beats, nodding to New Order's legendary 'World In Motion', but this time The Rhythm Method are bringing home the trophy for best new track. - Holly Mullineaux
